Refer and Earn with GCash in Messenger!


GCash is another virtual wallet that allows you to pay bills, transfer funds, perform transactions, and more all in the comfort of your... well, wherever your happy place is. It is PayMaya's sister from another mother. In simple terms, GCash is to Globe as PayMaya is to Smart. You can download the GCash app here.

GCash can also be used to verify your Paypal account. I actually prefer this over PayMaya because withdrawing funds from Paypal to GCash is free. I'll make a separate post about this soon.

Much like PayMaya, GCash is offering a ₱50 referral bonus if you refer a friend to link their GCash account to #GCashinMessenger.



Here's the promo mechanics*:
  1. Share the service to friends who are not yet on GCash in Messenger thru the Messenger bot.
  2. Promo message cannot be shared to a group of contacts or a page (must be shared individually to a Facebook contact).
  3. Friends must register or link their GCash to Messenger to be eligible for the reward.
  4. User cannot refer himself.
  5. Once confirmed valid, seeding of reward will be done within 3 to 4 days.
  6. Only a maximum of 25 referrals will be rewarded for the duration of the whole promo period.
  7. The GCash Referrals Rewards team has the authority to deny the conversion of rewards for incorrect, false or fraudulent referrals.

Some ground rules:
  1. This program is available to all GCash in Messenger users. Referrer must have a GCash account linked to his Messenger account while referring a friend in order to earn a promo reward.
  2. Referred friends should have created their Facebook / Messenger accounts BEFORE December  1, 2017.
  3. Rewards will be limited to referrals made within the promo period only.
  4. Multiple account linking and unlinking will not be considered as valid.
  5. Only one, unique GCash account per unique Facebook account will be valid for rewards.
  6. Available for Android users only.

Update:

So I referred one friend and had him register via the Messenger app. He has not created a GCash account prior and he actually created one using GCash in Messenger. It was a mess. Apparently, if you register through Messenger, you will not be asked to nominate an MPIN. So when you do download the GCash app and try to log in, you have no MPIN to use. If you make an account directly using the GCash app, you will be required to nominate an MPIN as part of the registration process. However, if you register using Facebook Messenger (directly from the referral link), that part is missing. I called GCash Customer Support (because their chat support sucks and never responds) and I was advised that if you register via Messenger, you can use your temporary MPIN to log in to the app. Your temporary MPIN would be the last four digits of your registered mobile number. Unfortunately, my friend had already been locked out of his newly created account and he now has to call GCash so he can be given a new temporaray MPIN.

So to summarize, if you created an account via Facebook Messenger and you did not nominate an MPIN, just use the last four digits of the mobile number linked to your GCash to log in to the app. After you've logged in, you can then change your MPIN in the settings.
